I’m extremely excited to have received the endorsement of Ray Villafan and parents of the American Softball Association. They have joined Moms and Dads from AYSO, South Bay Gunners, Wiseburn Little League, Holly Park Little League, and Hawthorne American Little League in supporting my re-election to City Council.
We all agree that sports activities are key to a healthy mind and body for our children. This is in keeping with our Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) initiative which our community has undertaken. Thank you for your support!
We are proud and happy to announce that LA County Firefighters Local 1014 has endorsed Councilman Alex Vargas for his re-election to the City Council. Local 1014 represents 3,200 firefighters including those that serve the City of Hawthorne. They recognize that Councilman Vargas has public safety as a top priority in protecting Hawthorne residents.
The Firefighter’s endorsement is a welcome addition to the support that Councilman Vargas is receiving from the Hawthorne Police Officers Association. The Councilman is extremely proud to have received the support of the two main public safety entities in Hawthorne.
I am extremely proud to have the endorsement for re-election of the men and women of the Hawthorne Police Department. They are the ones who keep our families safe in this community and for this we are forever grateful. I am excited to have their support and confidence in my leadership and I will continue to work hard to make sure they have the necessary resources to do their job.
Hawthorne Councilman Tem Alex Vargas has received the overwhelming endorsement from the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor. The county AFL-CIO believes in his record of working with Labor to effectively create jobs in Hawthorne.
The Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO is the second largest central labor body in the nation. In recent decades the Federation has been on the cutting edge of American labor in leading the movement by organizing campaigns, championing the rights of immigrant workers and becoming a powerful force for progressive political change in Los Angeles. The LA County AFL-CIO represents over 120 different labor unions and thousands of employees throughout the county.
Hawthorne family and friends, please share this video and let’s make sure we keep our City looking beautiful. It’s our responsibility to pick up after ourselves, and even those little things that someone else may have dropped. We have a larger goal, which is to make Hawthorne a great place to live in and where businesses will continue being excited to move into.
